Ram River Pipeline Outfitters is an owner operated company specializing in polyurethane foam application in the oilfield industry, with pipelines being our priority. The owners Sheldon Foss and Bob DeLong worked in the pipeline industry prior to the inception of Ram River in 1986. Cliff Grassl came on board in 1990 and adds a key element to our management team. Ram River Technicians, Operators, and Labourers have the experience and required training for most work sites.
Ram River has worked on projects of all magnitudes, with pipe dimensions from 2” Fuel Gas to 60” Hydro Lines. We also insulate Oilfield Skids, C-Cans, Warehouses, etc. Ram River employees have extensive knowledge and certification in applying all types of shrink sleeves, injecting weld joints, spraying breakers (erosion barriers) and rockshielding.
Polyurethane Foam is without a doubt one of the best most economical ways to protect your pipe in rocky conditions. Normally, 50mm of foam is applied to protect the pipe during the backfill process. In severe conditions the thickness of foam may be increased. This system far exceeds the quality of protection given from wrap on products.
At our facility in Olds we insulate Hot Bends, Risers, and Spool Pieces. This process can also be done in the field. Our Pre-Formed Pipe Shell is also built in Olds. The half shells are built for 2” pipe up to 12” pipe and work well for rock protection and insulation. Installation crews are available.
When keyed into the existing pipeline ditch our Polyurethane Erosion Barriers provide the support needed to keep ditch lines and hill sides in place. They are also crucial in diverting water off of R.O.W. We believe our system of erosion barriers is far superior to the conventional sandbag method. When properly keyed into existing pipeline ditch, our breakers provide a complete seal and force the water to the top of the ditch and off the edge of the ditch line. Polyurethane does not rot or break down when covered with soil. As a result, you have erosion barriers that will feasibly outlast the life of your pipeline.
With six (6) mobile units Ram River is able to take on even the largest of projects. Our equipment is ROW ready. Ram River uses the most up-to-date equipment for our spray foam application. All of our trucks are 4×4s. For areas that cannot be traversed by trucks, the units can be quickly transferred onto Nodwell trailers or skid sloops For insulated lines that require sandblasting Ram River has two mobile units as well.
Ram River can manufacture pre-formed pillows that support any diameter or wall thickness of pipe. Pillows can also be sprayed in place at the job site.
